You will keep hearing this over and over again that it is important to have a diet that is low in sugar (and processed carbohydrates) to prevent tooth decay.
It is actually bacteria in the mouth that causes decay, and it is the sugars that we eat that feed the bacteria.
However what we put in our mouth effects the health of our whole body. After many years of following the food pyramid diet, I have found out that for me, I need to keep ALL grains and sugars out of my own diet.
The turning point was reading a book called “Diet Evolution” by Dr Steven Gundry. Dr Gundry explains the effect of grains and sugars on our overall health.
In Australia, Chef Pete Evans is promoting the “Paleo Way” of eating, and writing helpful cookbooks.
